02How truffle cultivation works
At a high level, truffle farming means matching a site and host, planting inoculated seedlings, establishing and managing an orchard, and monitoring it over years. This makes some truffle species farmable, but it is a documented system rather than a recipe or a harvest guarantee.
Confidence reads like a ladder: established practice for some species, then documented white-truffle experiments, then open ecological and operational questions. Each step carries its own sources and limits.
An orchard is not a recipe: fruiting depends on soil, climate, host and years of care. The same principle does not deliver the same outcome at every site or for every grower.
